FLAVOURS OF THE WORLD - MAY
Following the Materials of the World Series, this one is dedicated to the flavours. Cooked up and delivered with the finest ingredients it takes away any sneaker fan's senses.
This month is inspired by Sanja Matsuri, one of the grandest and wildest Japanese festivals.
It is a symbolic festival celebrated in Tokyo over three days to bring luck, blessings and prosperity to the area and it's inhabitants. The traditional, black and gold, portable Mikoshi shrines are travelling through the streets accompanied by traditional costumes.
ADIDAS AMERICANA
First ever seen in the basketball arenas of the ABA in the 70ies, as it's logo went perfectly well with the blue and red Adidas stripes. The Americana was redesigned and in the late 70ies. Adidas produced a shoe made from nylon mesh and velours tip parts.
SANJA MATSURI EDITION
Black, high quality velours with leather applications. Gold details resembling the traditional Mikoshi design. The shrine is printed on the outside, more symbols on the tongue.
Laces in either black or black/gold. Lilac outsole and inside textile.
